Dade City’s current service page provides usable household and yard-waste preparation limits, but it names different companies in different sections. Confirm the actual carrier and special-pickup arrangement with the City before ordering an extra collection. Prepare an ordinary household or yard-waste setout

The City’s published household instructions say:

  • Containers must not exceed 50 pounds or 35 gallons and must be within four feet of the curb, with access unobstructed and tight-fitting lids.
  • A residence is allowed six items. Ask how the City counts bags, containers and bundles when the load is mixed; the page does not define that counting detail.
  • Tree limbs and branches must be less than four feet long and less than six inches in diameter. Smaller debris is bundled in lengths of four feet or less.
  • Bagged clippings and leaves can go with regular trash, subject to the weight restriction.

These instructions are from the current City webpage, not inferred from an old franchise agreement. Photographing the prepared load can help explain a missed-pickup question, but is not itself an acceptance decision.

More than six items, an appliance or project debris?

For excess quantity or a yard cleanup beyond ordinary service, the page directs residents to 352-523-5051. Its appliance section calls for a separately scheduled pickup and says an additional charge applies. Do not mix a refrigerator, washer or similar appliance into regular household garbage.

The provider wording needs clarification: the service introduction identifies Waste Pro, an appliance paragraph names Waste Services of Florida, and the additional-pickup paragraph names Waste Connections. LSL has not verified which of those latter instructions remains operative for a specific account. Ask the City to identify the carrier, approved items, price and collection date rather than choosing a company from the paragraph most convenient to the load.

For self-hauling renovation debris, Pasco County’s disposal page identifies construction debris as a West Pasco facility-only category and says East Pasco does not accept commercial waste. Do not assume that the nearby East Pasco Transfer Station accepts a construction load because its address says Dade City. Confirm origin, material, vehicle and charges before traveling; County disposal and City curbside service are separate services.

Keep hazardous material out of ordinary garbage

The City excludes tires, used motor oil, lead batteries and medical waste from mixed household garbage. Its page and the County disposal guidance direct readers toward separate options. Identify the exact item and ask the responsible program where it belongs; a general list of transfer stations is not permission to transport or leave an unknown chemical there.

Holidays and city limits change the question

The City lists New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas as no-collection holidays and says an affected pickup moves to the next scheduled collection day. Check any current interruption notice before setting out material.

The published City route is for residences inside city limits. For an outside address, the City directs the customer to their carrier. A Dade City postal address or use of the County transfer station does not establish a City collection account.

Correction and source scope

The earlier article called a franchise record current without establishing that status. The cited document begins with a 2016 agreement and a five-year initial term that could be extended; that alone does not prove today’s operating terms. This revision uses the City’s standing service instructions and County disposal page instead of blending old contract details with a fee proposal.

LSL read both operative webpages on September 21, 2026 and checked the old agreement’s opening and service provisions to identify the source-age problem. We did not verify every amendment, obtain a carrier assignment, request a pickup or confirm a private price. The current page’s conflicting provider names remain explicitly unresolved.
