Tavares’ tree-removal application asks for a site inventory, not just a photograph of the tree you want removed. Its six-inch threshold is a diameter measurement; a tape wrapped around a trunk measures circumference unless it is a diameter-calibrated tape.
Build the drawing the form actually requests
The application asks for property boundaries and dimensions, existing structures, and the location, type and diameter at breast height of all trees at least six inches DBH. Clearly distinguish trees to remain from trees to be removed.
Use matching labels on the sketch and photographs so the reviewer can tell which tree each measurement describes. That matching-label method is an LSL preparation aid, not a substitute for City measurement or species identification. For a borderline measurement, ask the City to confirm the method before relying on it.
The Code Enforcement page describes Tavares as a tree sanctuary and states the six-inch permit threshold. That summary is not every exception: Florida’s qualifying residential risk-assessment provision is a separate test, not a diameter exemption. Neither a small trunk nor an owner’s belief that a tree is hazardous settles all requirements.
Owner, HOA tract and neighborhood approval are different questions

The HOA-tract question concerns the land being worked on; it is not interchangeable with the question about a residence located in an HOA neighborhood. LSL has not reviewed any association’s covenants.
Keep the approval date visible
The form says an approved permit expires six months from approval. It also says Planning and Building inspections may occur before, during or after approved removal; those are possible inspection stages, not three appointments promised for every application.
Replacement requirements are entered in the City-use section. An attached species list is not, by itself, an order to plant a particular number of trees. Read the conditions entered for the actual permit.
