Lake Mary uses different forms for answering comments before permit issuance and changing a project after issuance. Neither is the same as requesting more time on an unfinished permit. The distinction appears in the actual forms, not just their names in a directory. Response form, revision form, extension form

The former applications link in this article opened the City Manager page. Use the current Building applications index, not that unrelated destination. Planning & Zoning has a separate index with the same “Applications & Forms” title.

Choose by the problem you are solving

Your questionForm or route to examineDistinguishing field
Starting a building application?Building Permit ApplicationProperty, work, contractor and license-holder information; permit-type selections
Answering review comments before issuance?Response to CommentsIdentifies who requested the information and the permit/job
Changing an issued permit?RevisionExplicit post-issuance label and valuation-increase field
Work remains but more permit time is needed?Reactivate/ExtendRemaining work and reason it was not completed; City decision and assigned inspection deadline

This is LSL’s form-selection aid, not a determination that a project qualifies or that only one filing will be needed. The building application and linked specialist forms establish the distinctions. If a changed design also needs an extension, describe both issues rather than assuming one form handles the other.

Carry the permit number; leave the decision to the City

The response and revision forms each separate applicant information from Building, Fire and Planning & Zoning approval areas. Prepare the explanation and correct project identifiers; a completed applicant field is not a departmental approval.

The extension form likewise leaves the approval/disapproval, official signature, fee and first-or-final-inspection deadline for the City’s decision. Do not turn its blank deadline into a self-selected extension period. Reactivate/Extend form

LSL’s submission check is to compare the permit number, project address, requested change and any resulting valuation change across the explanation and attachments. Where the records disagree, identify that difference for staff rather than submitting an old page under a new file name.

Scheduling is a separate service

The Building page links GoPost for online permitting but a separate service for inspection requests/results. Its cutoff is 2 p.m. for the next business day, with 407-585-1441 as the telephone route. The public Web Inspections screen requires a permit number and supports scheduling, cancellation, rescheduling and results.

Keep the assigned inspection type and result with the same permit number. Submitting a revision form or asking for an extension does not, by itself, book an inspection.

Checked September 20, 2026: the Building page, both actual form indexes, the public response/revision forms and inspection screen, and all pages of the building application and extension PDF in text and native layout. No form was submitted or permit number queried. The original wrong-destination citation was corrected; no private eligibility, legal extension period or inspection outcome was determined.
