Orlando’s virtual-inspection service lists single-family and duplex reroofing, door/window replacements and water-heater replacements. It is not a general substitute for every inspection. The City uses Microsoft Teams, and the inspector directs the live views. Eligibility and session instructions
Request a time; do not assume one is reserved
The request form starts with the permit number, one of those three work types and a preferred date. It repeats the minimum 24 business hours of advance scheduling. The City separately confirms the appointment; an entered preference is not that confirmation.
The cancellation form also lists HVAC replacements, although the new-request form and service page do not. That mismatch does not establish eligibility for a new HVAC appointment. Ask remoteinsp@orlando.gov which route applies rather than selecting a different work type to get past the form.
Scheduling notice checked September 20, 2026: the City announces a permitting, planning and code-enforcement system outage from September 23 at 2 p.m. to September 28 at 8 a.m. Check its current notice before relying on an online request or result during that interval. The notice does not establish that a particular confirmed appointment is canceled.
Prepare the camera operator and the documents separately
The City lists approved plans/revisions, the permit/card, recorded Notice of Commencement and applicable engineering material, plus an internet-connected camera device with Teams installed. Confirm which project documents apply before the visit. Preparation list

This is LSL’s preparation aid, not an official shot list or an instruction to expose work. The City’s page leaves camera directions to the inspector; it does not publish a universal set of photographs that guarantees acceptance.
Read the result after the call
Use the linked Permit Lookup for the result and comments. A failed inspection requires corrections and payment of the reinspection fee before another appointment. Save the result against the inspection type and permit number you requested. If the screen describes a different stage, ask the office to reconcile it; neither a successful Teams connection nor a call screenshot settles permit completion.
LSL checked the complete service page, the initial publicly accessible screens of both forms and the City’s permit overview on September 20, 2026. No form was filled or submitted, later form steps were not reviewed, and no appointment or private permit result was accessed.
