Ridgeland’s yard-debris page describes two services: Waste Management’s regular collection and a City route for larger resident-produced debris. Which collection instructions apply?

The comparison follows the City’s two service descriptions. LSL added the caution against converting an unstated limit into permission. Before a hired cutting job, settle removal in the contractor’s scope; a resident’s address does not turn contractor-produced material into resident-produced debris.
Read the map as a week, not an appointment
The City-linked yard-debris map, dated August 10, 2025, has three route colors:
- Green: first week of the month.
- Pink: second week.
- Blue: third week.
The map also marks private subdivisions as call in. It does not supply a street-by-street calendar date or a fourth-week color. The webpage’s instruction to place debris by 7 a.m. on collection day therefore needs an address-specific day confirmation; the map’s week alone is not an appointment.
Open the original map at a readable scale and locate the street, not merely the nearest colored area. If a boundary, uncolored street or private subdivision makes the route unclear, ask Public Works before scheduling work around collection. LSL has not assigned a route to any household.
Before leaving the pile out
Write down the material, who produced it, the service being requested and the confirmed timing. Check that the placement meets the City’s curb-distance instruction without mixing excluded items into the pile. If the material is refused, ask for the specific reason before trimming, rebundling or moving it; changing dimensions will not solve a producer or material exclusion.
LSL compared the complete service page with the visually reviewed one-page map on September 19, 2026. We removed the earlier unsupported no-length/no-weight assurance. The map retains its printed 2025 date; no new 2026 route map or completed collection is claimed.
