Classify a Clinton cleanup pile by what produced it before measuring it. Routine yard trimmings, hired tree removal and construction waste do not share one collection entitlement. A small pile of excluded material does not become eligible merely because it fits the size limits. City debris instructions
Three different disposal decisions
Routine yard trimmings: Clinton directs leaves into bags and limbs into tied bundles for Waste Management. The published limits are five feet long, eight inches in diameter, sixty pounds and two cubic yards. Set material beside the curbside trash receptacle, not in the gutter. Routine preparation
Rubbish requiring City pickup: The City lists piles no larger than seven feet long and five feet high, with pickup requested at 601-924-2239 or through its work-order route. Entire-tree disposal is excluded. Scheduled rubbish
Private removal: Residents remain responsible for debris from hired tree removal. Waste Management excludes waste resulting solely from construction, remodeling, repair or demolition, including listed roofing, landscape, brick, concrete and fencing materials. Producer and material exclusions
Do not transfer the rubbish dimensions to routine bundles, or assume the two-cubic-yard limit authorizes construction waste. These are different instructions, not interchangeable size options.
A mixed-pile sorting card
Use separate photographs or notes for these three groups before requesting a pickup:
| Group in your cleanup | Question to resolve |
|---|---|
| Leaves and ordinary small trimmings | Are preparation and all routine size limits met? |
| Larger rubbish or tree material | Will Public Works accept this exact material under its scheduled service? |
| Hired tree work, demolition or project materials | Who is arranging the private removal and where is that obligation recorded? |
This is LSL’s planning card, not a City acceptance list. For a contractor’s proposal, ask whether the price includes removal of every material category the work will create. Keep that answer with the scope before work begins; do not use a curbside photograph as proof that the City has agreed to take it.
Request the service, not an exemption
The Public Works work-order FAQ says online submissions go to the department head for assignment. Describe material, approximate dimensions, producer and location so staff can address the right question. A work-order receipt confirms a request, not permission to leave an excluded load.
Seasonal cleanup events have their own dates and accepted materials. This year-round guide does not turn an expired cleanup notice into today’s disposal option.
LSL reviewed the dedicated debris instructions and work-order FAQ on September 19, 2026. The debris page—not the FAQ—supports the size and private-removal distinctions. No load was inspected or accepted for collection.
