For a non-emergency City service question, call Vicksburg’s Action Line at 601-801-3411, email actionline@vicksburg.org, or use the Request for Service form. The online form explicitly excludes emergencies. For an emergency, the City’s Action Line directory directs callers to 911.

What the online form actually requires

LSL inspected the current form controls without submitting a request. It requires email, full name, street address, city, state, ZIP code, a service-request type and a written description. Telephone and low/medium/high priority are optional.

The type menu offers Animal Related, Appliance Pickup, Complaint, Curb/Gutter, General Information, Grass Cutting, Street Maintenance, Trash/Garbage Pickup, Traffic Signal/Signs, Utility and Other. Choose the closest fit; an available category does not mean the City accepts every job within it.

JavaScript is required and an anti-spam question appears before submission. Do not put an emergency into the form simply because “High” is available.

Separate your contact address from the problem location

The required street-address field alone may not explain where staff should look. In the description, distinguish your contact address from the location of the concern if they differ.

Use this LSL preparation check:

InformationWhy it helps the request
Exact location or nearest intersectionIdentifies the affected place without relying on the sender’s address
What is observable and when it was noticedDescribes the problem without guessing its cause
Relevant access or location detailHelps distinguish a street, sidewalk, private parcel or other site
Earlier request number, if anyLets staff connect follow-up to the same issue
Specific question or requested actionMakes clear whether you need information, routing or service

For example, “My mailing address is different from the affected location; the concern is at [location], observed [time]” is a writing aid, not a report of an actual incident. Include only information relevant to the request; do not send passwords or unrelated private documents.

Response hours are not a completion deadline

The online form states customer-service response hours of Monday–Friday, 7 a.m.–5 p.m. The Action Line contact panel lists 8 a.m.–5 p.m. weekdays. Its introductory text also describes a 24-hour telephone line established in 2002.

Those statements do not prove continuous staffed response. The tree-limb instructions specify weekday 8–5 contact hours excluding holidays. If timing matters, ask staff when your request will be reviewed; this guide does not convert any of these hours into a guaranteed callback.

Follow up on the assigned service, not a generic clock

Keep the text you sent and any acknowledgment or reference actually returned. For a follow-up, give the original location, submission date and reference and ask which department received it and what remains outstanding. Do not assume a submission generated a particular work order until confirmed.

The City’s tree-limb page illustrates a specific process: an Action Line request generates a contractor work order, with a stated allowance of up to seven business days from that order and pickup on the second trash-collection day. That is a tree-limb instruction, not a response promise for every form category. Confirm material eligibility and the applicable pickup arrangement before setting anything out.

LSL checked the City pages and live form controls on September 13, 2026. We did not submit a request, test email or telephone response, or observe a completed service. This guide concerns City of Vicksburg intake; it does not establish County service eligibility.
