Longwood’s six selected residential permit rows below range from $251.27 to $1,271.53. They come from the schedule effective July 1, 2026, adopted by Resolution 26-1724. The specialty amounts already include the 2.5% total state surcharge. Our earlier guide incorrectly said that surcharge was excluded.

Match the whole label, not the nearest word

Selected residential scopePosted amountWhy the label matters
Driveway$251.27This is the residential driveway row, not every paved surface.
Foundation stabilization$270.94Stabilization is not a generic new-foundation permit.
Building slab/pavers$347.12Keep this row distinct from the driveway entry.
Stand-alone electrical$382.28Do not substitute it for electrical addition, new work or remodel.
Demolition — complete structure only$463.55Partial removal inside a remodel is a different scope question.
Building remodel$1,271.53A broad project name still needs the City’s classification.

The table preserves all six previously reported amounts while restoring the qualifications the old labels lost. These are selected entries, not a complete catalog of Longwood permits.

LSL reproduces the range as $1,271.53 − $251.27 = $1,020.26. That difference compares named fee rows. It is not a construction-cost estimate, a contractor-price comparison or a reason to classify a remodel as driveway work.

Ask what is already inside the invoice subtotal

Do not add another 2.5% to these specialty amounts. The same schedule separately lists an $85.41 Division Overhead Fee per application. Before combining it with a quoted figure, ask whether that figure already contains the overhead charge and where it appears on the invoice. LSL has not inspected a bill establishing an all-in total.

For an unclear invoice, identify the proposed work and ask the City to show:

  • the exact fee row used;
  • which charges are included in the quoted subtotal; and
  • any additional applicable review, inspection or other charge and its basis.

For an unlisted permit type, the schedule allows pricing from actual costs and applicable components. Do not assign the closest-sounding flat fee to make an estimate look complete. Master structural permits and private-provider reductions have separate provisions outside this selected comparison.

If a proposal includes a fence-permit charge, check Longwood’s two fence-exemption routes before assuming a permit is needed.

The current Permitting and Inspections page gives 407-260-3486 and building@longwoodfl.org for Building questions. LSL read both City pages and reproduced the subtraction on September 12, 2026; no contractor quote, private permit account or project invoice was reviewed.
