Ocoee’s free Sensus customer portal lets a utility customer set water-use alerts. The first choice is the period being monitored: a daily limit and a billing-cycle limit answer different questions. A vacation override changes the daily limit for a fixed period. City portal explanation
Match the alert to the question
| Portal control described by the City | Question it helps monitor | Check before interpreting an alert |
|---|---|---|
| Billing-cycle threshold | Is accumulated use crossing the selected cycle limit? | Which billing period and threshold were selected? |
| Daily threshold | Did use cross the selected daily limit? | Which date and limit does the notice concern? |
| Vacation override | Should the daily limit differ temporarily? | Was the override active on that date, and when does it end? |
This LSL comparison organizes the City’s described settings; it does not specify a recommended household allowance. The City calls the information near real time, not an instantaneous guarantee. A daily alert and a cycle alert cannot be compared as though they measure the same interval.
Register using the bill’s account name
The Customer Portal page links the registration site and says to use the account number and name as listed on the utility bill. It describes the typical name format as last name then first name, uppercase and without a comma. Match the actual bill instead of assuming that example is every account’s name.
Registration instructions come from this portal page—not the rate brochure cited for them in the former article. LSL did not create an account or inspect private bills.
Treat a suspected problem as a reason to investigate
The City says alerts can flag a suspected leak or problem. Start by matching the notice to the selected interval and any temporary override, then compare it with known water use during that period. If the use is unexplained, give Utility Administration the alert date, interval and observed pattern. These are useful details for follow-up, not proof of where a leak is located.
For portal assistance, the City’s listed number is 407-905-3159. A billing question uses 407-905-3191, separately listed in the City’s rate/payment brochure. Portal help · Billing contact
An alert does not itself approve a bill adjustment or establish repair responsibility. Neither cited document supplies a determination for a particular customer’s claim, and this guide does not infer one.
LSL checked the portal instructions and both native pages of the brochure on September 20, 2026. The brochure’s rate schedule is labelled effective October 1, 2025; it is used here for the billing contact, not to calculate a current bill or claim a new rate change. No private consumption data, leak, repair or account outcome was verified.
