Mount Dora’s Building Department announces a 4 p.m. previous-business-day inspection cutoff, effective July 1, 2026. Its Online Permitting page still says midnight. Check the balance before reserving a final
The portal instructions say outstanding permit fees cause a scheduled final inspection to be cancelled. Rescheduling is available once the fees are cleared. A request confirmation therefore does not establish that the financial prerequisite has been satisfied.
LSL’s pre-final check separates three questions that require different evidence:

A bank-card authorization alone may not explain an uncleared permit balance. Ask the office which permit charge remains outstanding and whether the payment has been allocated correctly. Do not assume a receipt for another permit resolves it. This is a reconciliation aid, not access to the City’s payment system.
Allow for business days and changes
For a Monday inspection, the announced rule points to the preceding business day’s 4 p.m. cutoff, not Sunday midnight. Check holidays before choosing that day: the Building page says inspections scheduled on listed holiday closures move to the next business day. The same portal page leaves a gap in its payment-method ranges: it says credit card below $3,000 and e-check from $3,001. Ask which method applies to an exact $3,000 assessment rather than silently treating that amount as included in either range.
After the visit
Get the result for the requested permit and inspection. If it fails, identify the actual correction and reinspection requirement; if it passes, ask whether any other inspection or completion document is outstanding.
