The Parish checklist calls for either a health-department sewer permit or a public sewer company’s letter confirming service. This checklist is not a substitute for Monroe, West Monroe or another municipality’s own building-permit instructions.
Check the person separately from the system
LDH’s Onsite Wastewater Program describes parish sanitarians as operating the permitting system and separately identifies installer licensing. Its published program text distinguishes a Basic license for septic-tank installation from a Combination license for an aerobic treatment unit. It also distinguishes manufacturer endorsements for maintenance providers.
We could read the official page’s indexed text, but direct access was restricted during this review. We did not retrieve and verify the current installer or maintenance-provider lists. Use those distinctions to ask the sanitarian which current credential and endorsement apply; do not treat this article as proof that a named person is active or qualified.
For a proposed installer, ask for the exact licensed name, credential identifier, system type and current verification source. Compare that answer with the permit’s system description. A business card or an unrelated contractor credential does not answer both questions.
Keep the handoff with the building application
Give the building-permit office the applicable sewer document for the same property. The Parish page also says the applicant must notify the office for inspections and provide inspection documentation when using third-party inspectors. Before installation, ask the health office what inspection and completion evidence the actual wastewater permit requires. Keep its answer, the installer verification and the final system record together. This is a documentation safeguard, not a design, discharge approval or inspection result.
