Six CCF of JXN Water combined water and sewer use produces a $44.88 usage charge at the rates checked September 12, 2026. Add the listed $40 monthly availability charge for a 5/8-inch meter, and the illustrated subtotal is $84.88. With a one-inch meter’s $60 availability charge, it is $104.88.
These are reproducible examples, not complete or average bills.
Inputs from the current schedule
JXN Water’s rate page states:
- one CCF equals 748 gallons;
- combined water and sewer use from zero through 50 CCF is $7.48 per CCF;
- the monthly availability charge is $40 for a 5/8-inch meter; and
- the monthly availability charge is $60 for a one-inch meter.
The page describes a rate adjustment beginning March 23, 2026. These are standard combined-service examples, not the separately listed SNAP availability charges or water-only, sewer-only or irrigation classifications.

The page also mentions an approximately $88 average combined bill after the 2026 adjustment. That systemwide statement is not the input to our six-CCF calculation and should not be used to predict an individual account.
Check the units before comparing a bill
The utility’s bill explainer distinguishes meter-read usage in cubic feet (CF) from billed units of 100 cubic feet (CCF). Thus 600 CF = 6 CCF = 4,488 gallons in this example. Entering 600 as CCF would represent a different consumption level, not the same reading in another label.
The explainer also says its water-charge field includes sewer when JXN Water supplies sewer service. Do not add a second $44.88 sewer charge to our combined-service example.
Why the amount due can be different
Sanitation is a separate garbage-service charge, not sewer usage; the explainer says JXN Water bills it for the City. The $84.88 and $104.88 subtotals exclude sanitation, past balances, payments, credits, adjustments, deposits and other service fees. The explainer expressly says residential customers have no state or local tax charge.
Compare the actual service period, CCF and account classification with the current rate schedule. For a disputed reading or classification, the utility lists 601-500-5200. No account information is needed to use our public calculation.
Methodology and limitations
Local Service Ledger re-read the rate page and linked one-page bill explainer on September 12, 2026 and independently reproduced the conversion and both subtotals in code. The explainer’s sample account amounts were not used as rate evidence. We did not access an account, verify a meter or obtain an account-specific utility determination.
