Hillsborough County’s published 2027 table lists $532.77 annually for regular single-family residential solid-waste service, compared with $510.77 for 2026: a $22 increase. LSL subtracted each 2026 total from the corresponding 2027 total and divided the difference by twelve, rounding monthly equivalents to cents. The last column is a comparison aid, not a monthly billing schedule. The County FAQ provides the inputs; the separate fee page still lists the 2026 component amounts.
These assessments apply within the County Solid Waste Service Area. A Hillsborough mailing address alone does not establish County rather than City of Tampa service. The fee page also distinguishes multifamily renters, who do not receive County curbside collection, from eligible residential accounts. Do not infer service or discount eligibility merely from one row in the FAQ.
Collection and disposal are separate charges
The FAQ lists collection rising from $302.17 to $314.26 across all four categories, an increase of $12.09. Disposal varies by category:

For regular single-family service, $12.09 + $9.91 = $22.00, approximately 4.31% of the prior $510.77 total. The County describes the increase as 4.3%, reduced from an earlier 6.5% proposal. The charges are non-ad valorem assessments on the property-tax bill: they are not calculated from property value. The fee page describes an assessment period of October 1–September 30. Match the bill’s year, classification and separate collection/disposal lines before comparing a parcel with the general table. What is included—and what costs extra
The FAQ describes two garbage collections, one recycling collection and one yard-waste collection per week. It also lists limited self-haul disposal and other household services. Special bulky-item curbside pickup is a separate charge, even when an eligible resident could self-haul an accepted item within an allowance. There is a source inconsistency worth checking before hauling a large load. The FAQ and the fee page’s drop-off section describe a ten-cubic-yard annual Community Collection Center allowance; an earlier note on the same fee page instead describes a two-ton bulky-waste allowance. These are different units and differently scoped wording, not quantities LSL can convert without knowing the material. Ask Solid Waste which limit applies to the destination and load. Discount renewal is not the same for every program
The fee page says previously approved hardship/affordability-credit recipients must reapply annually. It says previously approved senior/disability discount or exemption recipients do not need to reapply unless they move to another home or condo in the County service area. The senior discount concerns the disposal assessment, not an automatic reduction of every fee. LSL read both County pages in full on September 21, 2026, reproduced their category totals and differences, and identified the conflicting disposal-allowance wording. No private bill, Board vote, contract, financial audit or eligibility application was reviewed. The old generic evidence ledger is replaced by these reproducible comparisons.
