For a standby generator under Seminole County Building Division jurisdiction, start with the Electric–Generator row in the current permit matrix, not a saved 2024 submittal guide. The old guide’s URL is broken, and the forms page currently shows its label without a download link.
The same page does provide an All Permit Types PDF. Its first page is a dense matrix with angled headings; LSL’s transcription below makes the generator row readable without importing the adjacent fuel-tank or general electrical rows.
What the generator row marks
The sheet defines R as required and O as optional. These are its marks, not an independent ruling on the project.

The permit-authorization heading distinguishes license holders and powers of attorney from owner-builders. The owner-builder and Notice of Commencement headings also contain conditions. Preserve that context rather than copying only the letters.
Florida’s Notice of Commencement statute sets duties and exceptions independently of the matrix. An O in a local guide does not decide whether the statute applies to the job. Have the applicable recording and submission requirements resolved before relying on an incomplete packet.
A blank fuel cell does not settle the fuel system
The matrix itself warns that it may not cover every project requirement. Give the responsible reviewers the actual fuel arrangement and ask whether a separate application or review is needed. The former article’s specific tank thresholds came from the now-unavailable guide; they are not carried forward as verified current requirements.
The Fire Department FAQ describes its own inspection service, including unincorporated Seminole County, Casselberry and Winter Springs. That fire-service coverage does not transfer a municipality’s building-permit process to the County.
Keep the submitted and issued project aligned
The Building Division workflow separates application information, ePlan review comments, fees, permit status and issued documents. Its public permit search covers unincorporated Seminole County; confirm jurisdiction before applying the County route.
LSL’s additional comparison is simple: does the generator identified in the proposal match the model and scope in the submitted plans and eventual issued set? If it changes, ask the applicant and reviewing authority how to process the revision. This is an optional consistency check, not a County form or a generator design assessment.
An upload is not an issued permit, and a building result does not answer an unresolved fuel or fire question. Use the recorded agency responses for the actual project.
