Prepare the search before visiting
For a vehicle or electronic item, note its make, model, year where applicable and the identifying information on the equipment. Describe the fault or the reference you need without assuming the same-looking model uses the same procedure. For a home project, note the material, existing condition and question: for example, identifying an unfamiliar fitting is different from obtaining current permit instructions.
If ALLDATA is the intended resource, ask the library how to access it on site before making the trip. For the other resources, use the individual library entry and follow its access instructions. This review did not authenticate as a cardholder or test remote access; an access link alone is not proof that every reader can use the service from home.
Check the match before using the result
LSL suggests keeping three details with a useful reference: the exact model or project it covers, its edition or date, and the question it answers. If those do not match your situation, use the document to formulate a better question—not as an interchangeable instruction sheet.
