Is the unresolved problem with the repair business, the insurer or a dealer transaction? For a Monroe-area vehicle owner, that distinction changes the state complaint route. The Louisiana Attorney General’s consumer-dispute page expressly excludes insurance claims; sending every collision-related complaint there is not a sound starting point.

First describe who did what and what remains unresolved. Then check the receiving agency’s scope and form. A complaint submission is not a finding against a business, a promise of recovery or a substitute for timely legal advice.

This is a starting comparison, not an individualized jurisdiction ruling. If more than one party is involved, distinguish the allegations and disclose prior agency contacts as the relevant form requests. The agencies do not become interchangeable because the same vehicle appears in each record.

Prepare the copy for its actual recipient

The AG’s three-page paper form requests make, year and VIN for a vehicle dispute. It separately warns against sensitive personal and payment-account information. Keep the office-use case ID blank and read the final page’s forwarding and consent terms.

LSL’s audience check is simple:

  • Private master file: retain the original records securely; make submission copies rather than altering the originals.
  • Official submission: follow that agency’s actual requested identifiers and privacy instructions. Do not remove a requested VIN merely because a publicly shared copy would be redacted.
  • Publicly shared copy: review the entire document for vehicle, contact, account and other identifying details; publishing a record is a different decision from sending it to an agency.

An invoice’s vehicle, work and parts fields are described in R.S. 32:535.1. They help identify the transaction, but do not prove that an accusation is true. Keep supporting records tied to the particular disputed statement rather than treating a large attachment bundle as stronger evidence by itself.

Attachments follow different workflows

On September 12, the reviewed AG online form directed supporting-document copies to its mailing address. It did not present a reviewed upload control. Use the current instructions and keep a record of separately mailed material; do not assume pressing Submit also sent documents stored on your device.

The LDI insurance welcome page says electronic documents can be attached after successful complaint submission. Its insurance instructions are separate from the pharmacy-benefit form on the same page. The LMVC online form, by contrast, displays attachment controls within the form.

Those observations do not certify a completed submission. LSL entered no information, accepted no terms, uploaded nothing and filed no complaint. If an attachment route is unclear or has changed, ask the agency before sending sensitive material through a guessed destination.

Write a short account the documents can support

Use this LSL statement framework in your own words—not as a required agency form or a ready-made allegation:

The transaction: identify the business, visit and service at issue. The discrepancy: explain what differs between the agreement, communication, invoice or result reported. The request: state the remedy sought and the business’s response, if any. The support: name the relevant copies and say what each establishes.

Arrange events chronologically where requested, while distinguishing a document’s statement from your observation or an unanswered question. For example, an invoice line establishes what was billed; it does not by itself establish what was installed. If dates or facts are uncertain, say so rather than filling the gap.

The repair-bill comparison helps identify an estimate or invoice discrepancy. The crash-parts guide addresses an earlier disclosure question. Preserve the actual submitted copy and subsequent response separately from your working notes. Do not assume an agency filing pauses a private deadline; seek qualified Louisiana advice when rights or timing are at issue.

What LSL checked

We read the AG’s current route and online form, all three paper-form pages as text and rendered images, the LDI welcome instructions, the LMVC complaint page/form and the complete invoice statute on September 12. A web-tool failure on the AG page was checked by ordinary GET, which returned 200; it was not a broken link. No private complaint, office response, case outcome or professional assessment was obtained. Original publication and owner approval remain August 29.
